Terms of Service

These terms explain the conditions of the Canvas Socrates beta service and the limits you should understand before using it.

Translation notice: This English page is provided for convenience. If its meaning differs from the Korean terms, the Korean version governs.

1. Nature of the service

The service provides self-reflection questions and reference statements based on behavioral signals observed on the canvas and, when you choose to use the camera, expression tags classified on your device. The results do not replace a medical or clinical diagnosis, a psychological assessment, treatment, or professional counseling.

2. Limits of AI-generated results

AI-generated text may be inaccurate or may not fit your context. The service does not determine your personality, attachment style, actual emotions, another person's thoughts, or future behavior. Do not make important relationship, health, legal, or financial decisions based only on these results.

3. Conditions of use

  • You must be at least 19 years old to use the service or make a paid purchase.
  • You may not submit another person's camera or behavioral data without consent, or use the service for unlawful or infringing purposes.
  • You are responsible for keeping your report access token private. If you create a sharing link, you understand that its recipient may be able to view the shared summary.

4. Paid in-depth report and payment

The in-depth report is a one-time digital content purchase, not a recurring subscription. The amount, currency, and taxes shown in the checkout are the controlling charge and may be localized for your country of residence. Report generation starts after payment approval and may normally take several minutes.

The seller of the paid report is Paddle.com Market Ltd. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record in its own name and handles payment collection, receipt issuance, and taxes. Refunds are therefore processed under Paddle's procedures and policies rather than through a Korean payment processor, and requests about refunds, receipts, or payment errors may be directed to Paddle support. The party responsible for Korean e-commerce disclosures and the operator's Korean tax treatment under this structure have not yet been finalized. They will be confirmed through legal review and disclosed before paid public launch.

If payment is approved but the report is not delivered, or if you suspect a duplicate charge, do not make another purchase. If payment completed but your report does not open, send the order number from your payment confirmation email and the report URL to the contact address below. After review, we will restore access to the report or provide a full refund.

5. Refunds and cancellation rights

Failure to provide the report: If payment is approved but the in-depth report is not generated or cannot be opened, you will receive a full refund regardless of the ordinary cancellation period.

Change of mind: The in-depth report is digital content whose generation starts immediately after payment. If you request a refund before generation starts, you will receive a full refund. Once the report has been generated and is available to read, a refund for change of mind may be limited because of the nature of the content. If you are dissatisfied, you may still send us your reason. During beta, we will review these requests individually and handle refunds proactively.

How to request a refund: Email sswook6720@gmail.com with your order number or Paddle payment confirmation. We will respond within three business days. Because Paddle.com Market Ltd is the seller, Paddle returns the funds to the original payment method. Your card issuer or payment method may take additional days to reflect the refund. You may also contact Paddle support through the link in the Paddle payment confirmation email.

6. Changes and interruptions

During beta, features, pricing, models, and wording may change. Maintenance, outages, or problems with external AI or payment infrastructure may temporarily interrupt the service. Recovery and refund obligations for paid content follow the finalized operating policy and applicable law.

7. Safety notice

If reading a result causes severe distress or a sense of crisis, stop using the service and seek help from someone you trust or a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger in South Korea, call 112 or 119, or contact the mental health crisis line at 1577-0199. Outside South Korea, contact your local emergency services or crisis support line.

8. Operator and contact information

  • Service operator: 소크라테스캔버스, represented by 서성욱
  • Questions, refunds, and deletion requests: sswook6720@gmail.com
  • Seller of paid reports: Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as Merchant of Record and handling payment collection, receipt issuance, and taxes in its own name.

The sales contract for a paid report is entered into with Paddle.com Market Ltd as the Merchant of Record. The operator supplies the content to Paddle. Paddle collects the payment, issues the receipt, and handles applicable taxes, including VAT, in its own name. Responsibility for Korean e-commerce disclosures and the operator's Korean tax treatment under this structure has not yet been finalized and will be updated after legal review.

9. Beta notice

This document is a beta version of the terms based on the product's current behavior. The business address, dispute resolution process, and governing law have not yet been finalized and must be confirmed through legal review before wider paid release. The contact address in §8 is active, and we will respond within the period stated in §5.
