Terms of Service

These terms explain the conditions of the Canvas Socrates FREE V3 service and the limits you should understand before using it.

Translation notice: This English page is provided for convenience. If its meaning differs from the Korean terms, the Korean version governs.

1. Nature of the service

The service provides self-reflection questions and reference statements based on drawings, writing, and drawing activity from a five-step canvas. The camera is an optional on-device aid that only indicates whether a face is in frame after you deliberately select it. Camera video and derived values are not used as report evidence. The results do not replace a medical or clinical diagnosis, a psychological assessment, treatment, or professional counseling.

2. Limits of free and AI-generated results

If you consent to Google AI processing, the free result may send structured drawing evidence and writing you supplied to Gemini. A drawing image is sent only after a second, separate choice. The saved stage PNG is transferred without resizing or re-encoding; if the full request exceeds the transfer limit, the drawing image is not sent and the request stops with an error. If you decline only drawing-image transfer while keeping Google AI consent, the service may still create an AI result from structured evidence and writing without the image. If you decline Google AI processing entirely, or if AI is temporarily unavailable, the service makes no Google call and uses a pre-reviewed copy bank. AI-generated observations and text may be inaccurate or may not fit your context. The service does not determine your personality, attachment style, actual emotions, another person's thoughts, or future behavior. Do not make important relationship, health, legal, or financial decisions based only on these results.

3. Conditions of use

  • You must be 19 years of age or older to use or purchase the service.
  • Before starting, this condition is checked only with a server-signed minimal proof using a pseudonymous session binding after self-attestation. This proof does not verify identity or date of birth, and we do not request or store your date of birth, identity document, or name for this purpose.
  • You may not submit another person's camera or behavioral data without consent, or use the service for unlawful or infringing purposes.
  • You are responsible for keeping your report access token private. If you create a sharing link, you understand that its recipient may be able to view the shared summary.

4. Paid in-depth report and payment

Every user who completes all five steps receives the same free service scope, while the wording of the free result may vary with the user's inputs. The in-depth report adds an evidence timeline, multiple interpretations, reflection questions, and an action plan. It is a one-time digital content purchase, not a recurring subscription. Camera choice and drawing-image transfer consent do not change the free or paid scope, price, access, or any guarantee of result quality. The full report is not generated or exposed until Paddle confirms a completed transaction.

Paddle acts as Merchant of Record in its own name and handles payment collection, receipts, tax, and refunds. The seller is the Paddle entity shown in the checkout and receipt for the buyer's location, and that transaction-specific display controls. Refund, receipt, and payment-error requests may be submitted through the link in the Paddle confirmation email or Paddle Buyer Support; requests sent to the operator are routed into Paddle's process.

If payment is approved but the report is not delivered, or if you suspect a duplicate charge, do not make another purchase. If payment completed but your report does not open, send the order number from your payment confirmation email and the report URL to the contact address below. After review, we will restore access to the report or provide a full refund.

5. Refunds and cancellation rights

Failure to provide the report: If payment is approved but the in-depth report is not generated or cannot be opened, you will receive a full refund regardless of the ordinary cancellation period.

Seven-day right for South Korean consumers: Paddle's Refund Policy dated 31 March 2026 gives South Korean consumers an unconditional right to cancel a digital-content or service contract for seven days after delivery and receive a full refund. Paddle instructs buyers to submit the request within seven days of the transaction. Korean e-commerce law measures the seven-day period from the contract statement and, if supply starts later, from the start of supply. If those rules differ or mandatory law is more favorable, the more favorable rule applies. Generation or access to the report does not by itself limit this right during that period.

How to request a refund: Use the “View receipt” or support link in the Paddle confirmation email, or select “Request refund” at Paddle Buyer Support. You may also email sswook6720@gmail.com with your order number; the operator will forward it to Paddle without delay and respond with a status within three business days. Eligible refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible. Paddle's policy says processing occurs within 14 days after approval, but any shorter mandatory refund deadline under South Korean law takes priority.

6. Changes and interruptions

During operation of the FREE service, features, pricing, models, and wording may change. Maintenance, outages, or problems with future external AI or payment infrastructure may temporarily interrupt the service. Recovery and refund obligations for paid content follow the finalized operating policy and applicable law.

7. Safety notice

If reading a result causes severe distress or a sense of crisis, stop using the service and seek help from someone you trust or a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger in South Korea, call 112 or 119, or contact the mental health crisis line at 1577-0199. Outside South Korea, contact your local emergency services or crisis support line.

8. Operator and contact information

  • Service operator: 소크라테스캔버스, represented by 서성욱
  • Questions, refunds, and deletion requests: sswook6720@gmail.com
  • Seller of paid reports: the Paddle Merchant of Record entity shown in the checkout and receipt.

The sales contract for a paid report is entered into with the Paddle Merchant of Record entity shown in the checkout and receipt. The operator supplies the content to Paddle, while that entity collects payment, issues the receipt, and handles applicable taxes and refunds in its own name. Before confirming payment, you can review the seller, final amount, currency, tax, and cancellation terms shown in the checkout.

9. Formation and termination of the free-service contract

The free-service contract is formed when you complete the 19+ self-attestation and mandatory consent and begin submitting the five-step session. You may stop before submission at any time. With a valid ownership proof in the same browser, you may end the free-service contract by deleting a report with no payment history from its result page. Termination does not retroactively affect lawful processing already completed or records that must be retained by law. A paid contract is formed separately when you confirm the order shown in the checkout and Paddle completes the payment.

10. Changes to these terms

The operator will announce the effective date and reason for a change on the service in advance. A change that is not adverse to users will be announced at least seven days before it takes effect. A change that is adverse or materially changes rights or duties will be announced at least 30 days before it takes effect. Processing expansions or paid-condition changes that require separate agreement will use a new policy version or a pre-payment confirmation, and changed terms will not be applied retroactively to completed use.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms and the free service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises, the parties will first try to confirm the facts and resolve it through sswook6720@gmail.com; consumers may also use consultation or mediation provided by the Korea Consumer Agency or another competent body. No operator-location court is designated as the exclusive forum. Any lawsuit must be filed in a court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act or other applicable law.

12. Effective date and feature availability

These terms (2026-08-24.en.v6) apply on socrates-canvas.com. Gemini-assisted results, optional local camera use, optional drawing-image transfer, and Paddle one-time checkout are available when the corresponding choice is shown in the service. Saved stage PNGs are transferred without resizing or re-encoding; if the full request exceeds the transfer limit, drawing images are not sent and the request stops with an error. During an outage, quota limit, or security response, the operator may temporarily suspend a feature or use the no-image-transfer fallback.
